Support Staff Selection Process

Step 1: Application

  • The Candidate MUST:

    • Have at least a high school diploma or equivalent

    • Submit the online application

    • Meet the specific requirements for:

-Classroom Aides: Must have at least one of the following to be considered Highly Qualified: Bachelor's Degree, Associates Degree, 90 quarter hours, 60 semester hours, or passed the ParaPro Assessment

- Head Custodian, Head Cook, Maintenance Specialist personnel: Must have taken the Civil Service Test


Step 2: Initial Interview

  • This will serve as a preliminary screening of the applicant. The interview will occur at our district offices. These interviews are initiated by SWSCD staff.

Step 3: Building Interview

  • A candidate may be contacted to interview for a specific position at the building with the building administrator and other instructional staff.

Step 4: Selection

  • The Personnel office will contact a candidate to inform them if they are being offered a position or if a position has been filled by another candidate.


Support Staff Substitute Selection Process

Step 1: Application:

  • The Candidate MUST:

    • Meet basic employment requirements

    • Submit the online application

Step 2: Interview

  • This will serve as the screening of the applicant. The interview will occur at the district office.

Step 3: Selection

  • The Personnel office will contact a candidate to inform them if they are being offered a substitute position.
